The headaches he gets are from stress and strain on the muscles they had to cut into and from the shunt but that in time they will eventually go away.
The part of the brain where the tumor is does not cause seizures so that's good news. They did say they could remove the part that is left but that since it was benign and doing nothing there was no sense in putting him through all that again.
Oh yeah and definitely no head injuries if at all possible, so now my task is to learn to live with the knowledge that my son does still have part of a tumor even though its not cancerous and to keep him from injury to his head (easier said than done since he tries to be so active).
Thank you all and thank you Hal for doing this for me. In a way this is kinda therapy for me, it helps me see what I have to do and stay focused.

Got Brian's MRI results back today. He still has 5% of the tumor there: it isn’t growing or shrinking so the doctors said they want me to bring him for more MRI's every 6 months to keep an eye on it.
