The Unholy
French research student Pierre Sabattier discovers the long-lost forearm of St Johann, a priceless Christian relic. Unfortunately for him, the arm comes to life and has little difficulty in finding its first victim. It rips off Pierre's arm and grafts itself onto the remaining stump. Thus it rampages around Paris through a strip show, a bus full of peace demonstrators and a black magic ceremony designed to stop it forever. Only Mark Freeman, young Euro MP, knows enough of its background to do anything about it.
John Halkin, noted chiefly for his various creature bloodfeasts - worms, caterpillars, more worms - adds a slight twist and pulls it off ('scuse the puns). This is very different from his other novels and has a innovative concept that isn't treated with as much exploration as it should. |
