Austria
It is impossible to see Vienna in a day, but we certainly did our best.
We visited St Stephen's Cathedral, many of the outdoor monuments including that of Goethe and Mozart.
In the process, I found out that one of the best ways to escape 35°C weather is to hang out in catacombs beside piles of bones!
(Others, as you can discover below, chose to run through sprinklers outside the Hofburg Palace.)
During our time in Austria, we stayed in the small town of Bruck an der Leitha.
I wish I'd gotten more pictures of this place (particularly the "snitzelwagon" that our hotel owners arranged to take us to a restaurant for dinner), but the shot of me beside the mini car will have to suffice.
I am 5'2" (157cm), to give you an idea of how small that car really is.

Another angle.

Jamie the monster beside, erm, a smaller St Stephen's.

The entrails of Maria Theresa, found in the catacombs underneath St Stephens.
Tradition dictated that the entrails, hearts and bodies of Habsburg monarchs be buried in different places to ensure preservation.

Typical scene of a horse and buggy outside the Hofburg complex.
These special horses descend from a Spanish breed, taken from Madrid by the Habsburgs when the family lost Spain at war.

Inside the Hofburg complex, which dates from the 11th century.
This castle has 2 500 rooms and 19 courtyards.

Me with famous Sachertort.

I know I could reach the clutch in this thing!
