Halifax, Mahone Bay, and Lunenburg Nova Scotia

In April 2003 I travelled to Nova Scotia to visit my brother, who lives in Dartmouth. Below are some pictures of Halifax and of a day trip we took to Mahone Bay and Lunenburg.

Looking up a typical downtown Halifax street. The streets run steeply uphill away from the Harbour. This one looks towards the Citadel.

A ship moored in the Harbour.

The oldest Anglican Church in Canada, St Paul's, downtown Halifax.

The Nova Scotia Legislative Building. Statue of Charles Tupper barely visible in the left of the picture.

The inside of the Legislative Assembly. This picture covers almost the entire room -- there are only 52 seats.

View of Mahone Bay, a few hour's drive southwest of Halifax on the way to Lunenburg.

A Closer look at Mahone Bay's three historical churches all side by side.

Typical architecture at Lunenburg. The entire town is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Along the Salt Marshes trail in Cole Harbour Nova Scotia. These marshes are home to abundant wildlife, particularly birds.
