29 Jun 1984This show listing is not complete, as it's missing the beginning and the end.
NotesNot my recording. Thanks to the Friday Rock Show Wiki. |
20 Jul 1984This show listing is not complete, as it's missing most of it.
NotesThis listing is taken from a poor quality recording that seems to be at least partly copied from other tapes with edits between tracks. It begins with tracks from Lemmy's show on 19 Apr 1985, progresses to what I presume is the 14 Jun 1985 show with a Lyin' Rampant session, then parts of what can be firmly dated to 20 Jul 1984 and finally a track that isn't from a Friday Rock Show. Fun times. So, best guess here. The Spellbound and Gillan tracks definitely go together but it's very possible that the Lee Aaron track doesn't. After the Gillan track, Tommy Vance dedicates it to Ian Gillan "who's getting married tomorrow". This dates the show to 1984.

3 Aug 1984This show listing is not complete, as it's missing the beginning.
NotesNot my recording. Thanks to Iain Kennedy and Killason Kilas. Friday Night Connection (tracks 1-3) by Phil Zikowski from Neath. The previous week's selection was Annabel Lamb's The Flame, Murray Head's Los Angeles and the Alan Parsons Project's Games People Play. Opus live as part of the Eurorock Festival in Germany. This was presumably recorded on 11 May 1984 at E-Werk in Erlangen. Date confirmed by news after the show, provided by Kilasson Kilas, which includes Ronald Reagan lifting some sanctions against Poland on 3 Aug. |
17 Aug 1984This show listing is not complete, as it's missing most of it.
NotesFrom Mötley Crüe onwards is the music sweep for the Castle Donington Monsters of Rock festival in 1984. Tracks by the Scorpions and Van Halen would therefore populate the final gap. This tape also includes Helloween's Metal Invaders, Blue Öyster Cult's Hot Rails to Hell and Rush's Passage to Bangkok, before the Mötley Crüe track, but, while they are recordings from the Friday Rock Show, I can't be sure that they're from this particular one because they're edited in and there are gaps. |
21 Sep 1984This show listing is not complete, as it's missing the beginning.
NotesNot my recording. Thanks to the Friday Rock Show Wiki. |
19 Oct 1984?This show listing is not complete, as it's missing the end.
NotesSessions by Dirty Strangers (a repeat playing) and Tokyo Blade (the first airing). Comments on Side A talk about the upcoming birthday programme in November, the sixth such. Also, as the Iron Maiden track is their current single, this dates the show to late October or early November 1984. Aces High was released on 22nd October 1984. The Friday Rock Show Wiki lists a Tokyo Blade session airing on 19 Oct 1984. Friday Night Connection (tracks : Don Barker of Gateshead. The previous week's connection contained Supertramp's The Logical Song, Accept's London Leatherboys and Hanoi Rocks's Devil Woman. |
